Our movie BIRDMEN was a finalist at the Banff Mountain Film Festival. We just got back after four days of enjoying spectacular mountain views and watching a bunch of great movies, such as “Where The Trail Ends’. Each world tour stop decides what movies they play, so we will soon see where BIRDMEN plays in the coming months. Thanks to the organizers and volunteers who put on the festival every year, and the business owners in Banff who help support the filmmakers in many ways.

We just completed editing the international and U.S. 2012 Burton High Fives Television event show. MSI and Burton produced the event which took place this August in New Zealand. It was a unique event in that everyone picked teams and competed in pipe, slope style and also non-snowboard events such as jet-boat racing and knife throwing. The snowboard events were part of the World Snowboard Tour and was a five star event for individuals, and there was an overall team competition that Kelly Clark and her team ‘Low Five’ won.

I recently spent seven days in Nepal shooting local artisans for a new Team Thirteen client. Our guide Lakpa Sherpa took us to local homes and workplaces to see how the locals work, live and eat. It was an amazing experience and to top it off we were able to fly up into the mountains and see Everest. I wish I could say the videos from the trip will come out soon, but they aren’t due until May!

We just finished producing six stories for one of the best children’s hospital in the country; Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City. These videos were used for fundraising purposes. The big challenge with this project was getting the stories under five minutes as they could have easily been a half hour or more. Here’s a link to one of them; this particular video is about Mia Bella Brickey, who had a near-death experience, and her family. It is one of the most powerful stories we have ever heard.

Thanks to all the families and all the people at KSL and Primary Children’s.

Six months after completion, the five mini-documentaries we produced for Specialized with welikesmall are finally online. The videos all live in this microsite welikesmall built. Thanks to Goodby and Specialized for trusting us with this project. The concept was to show how Specialized employees are passionate die-hard bikers just like their customers. Truthfully, I think they are more passionate and bike-obsessed than 99.9% of bikers anywhere in the world.

Struck designed and concepted an amazing toy store in the The Grand America, a luxury hotel in Salt Lake City, UT. The amount of detailed fantasy and imagination that went into the store is mind-blowing. Struck hired us to create a mini-documentary about their creative process of creation and collaboration with many talented artists., Check out Brand New for a complete write-up on the store:

The response to our documentary trailer for ‘Birdmen’ has been awesome! With over 150,000 views so far (posted on three different sites) and over 2500 likes on vimeo, we are extremely happy it has garnered so much interest. Also, The Atlantic interviewed us and posted an exclusive clip from the movie here.
